Robin Kendall 60, surely not?

Pre-season training started for the Vets, way ahead of the so-called elite teams, with a 9-a-side match against a Robin Kendall Invitation XI on the 27th July 2017 to celebrate Robin’s 60th Birthday. Robin gave Murf the slip a minute into the game and scored his first goal for a decade, the West Kirby Wasps kit causing quite some consternation. The Ramblers were soon 2-0 down depsite the presence of Lazarus, playing his first game for 6 years and showing that he is just the player we remember. Crutchley’s late cry-off was with the express condition that no-one else should score in his place but Dave Arthur had the temerity to disobey and take the deficit down to one. Bibby equalised with a header from a Yates corner and Arthur spolied the party by scoring another just before the Woodchurch siren brought proceedings to a close and a splendid cake was unveiled at the Irby Mill.
