114th Golf Day
Coronavirus didn’t stop 24 Ramblers from attending the 114th Golf Day at Royal Liverpool. However wind speeds in excess of 30mph proved too much for many to truly compete for one of the most cherished golfing trophies after the Claret Jug.
Jamie Bradshaw was victor on the day, with a very respectable 30 points. Lockdown is clearly giving Jamie an opportunity to hone his skills, as he was 3 points clear of Russell Hall, Rick Taylor and Jim Hacking who were the runners-up.
In a short statement after the competition, Jamie thanked his employers for giving him so much paid time off to play golf in recent weeks. It is understood that Jamie celebrated the victory long into the earlier hours, with some socially distanced beers… on his own.
The 115th Golf Day is set to be played at Ormskirk Golf Club on Friday 2nd July, where it is hoped the golf will be followed by dinner yet again.
