Manchester Grammar School v Liverpool Ramblers 2nd XI

Match Report

A  crisp morning saw us travelling to MGS looking to get back to winning ways.

As has been for a while some loaning of players was required to get a team out but the spine of the 2s was present.

The game started with ramblers on the back foot a little scrapping away trying to get the ball up field  and after 10 minutes the quick passing started and we began to take over forcing MGS inti mistakes and waywards passes.

The deadlock was broken from a corner which to be viewed the dubious goals panel, B Cornwall with a lovely in swinger right on the goalies head seems to go in without a touch but Smithy claims to have touched the ball at least twice before it crossed the line, why he’d need more than 1 touch from a yard out is anyones guess!

Seemingly cruising to half time one to the good, MGS managed to pull one back, bagpuss with a good save , parrying to Lincs laying on the floor and the MGS stirker taking advantage.

Positive half time team talk was more of the same please and the lads delivered, knocking on the door all second half when a lovely ball played out to Carew who played a first time ball inside to B Cornwall who fired in a goal no one could take away from him.

Victorous 2-1
